Getting closer

I am going on the road for 4 months to work with women in rural areas in Bangladesh and Peru. The idea is to see if information and communication technologies (ICT) can assist these women (and men) towards sustainable development (ICTD) and livelihoods. The UN has a body called the Global Alliance for ICT for Development(UNGAID)and I am a Region Champion. So far my championships has been virtual, consisting of sitting at a desk, so about time I did some hands on, which I am now able to do courtesy of an Australian Goverment Endeavour Award.

I will carry a mini video camera so with a bit of luck and bandwidth I'll be illustrating my journey with pix & vids.

Going on the Road

In about 5 weeks from now I am going to be traveling to Bangladesh and Peru to work with rural women.

I was all set to go in early August when my Bangladeshi host fell over. Oh, horror. After much water under the bridge, I've managed to make new arrangements and split my time between two countries - Bangladesh and Peru.
